Darker side

Darker Side is a kingdom that is unlocked after depositing 500 Power Moons into the Odyssey once the main game has been completed. The sole purpose of the kingdom is as a final challenge gauntlet, which takes place entirely in a large sub-world. However, the sub-world can be skipped using Frog Airswim or a Cappy return cancel.

One Serious Crater

This giant crater was formed by a huge meteor collision long ago. The impact destroyed the civilization that flourished on the moon, which is how Culmina Crater came to be. The crater itself is so massive, you cannot see the bottom.

Seeing the Bright Side

From here you can observer galaxies shining in ways you never could see from home. Culmina Crater features vistas entirely unique from those you can find on the Dark Side of the Moon and Honeylune Ridge. If you're feeling down or disheartened, just take a look up at the Milky Way from here. You can see each star twinkle as the nestle close to one another. It will all be OK—you are not alone.

Moon Mysteries

When you look up inside the caverns, you may see deposits that look like the cubic Moon Rocks. Were the rocks that fell planetside originally formed here?

A Bewildering Building

This colossal building stands in Culmina Crater. If you look closely, it seems to resemble the city hall in New Donk City. Some think it's based on New Donk City Hall. According to researchers, it might be one of the remnants of the civilization that once flourished on the moon. But with little evidence, this theory lacks credibility.

A Lone Pipe in A Crater

This is the only pipe that connects to the lunar interior. If you find it, we don't recommend jumping right in. What awaits is a trial so harsh, it lives up to the name Culmina Crater.

Of course, if you have the confidence of a traveler who has done everything else this world has to offer, give it a shot! Overcome this, and adventurers the world over will sing your praises.

Inside the Moon

A lava zone spreads throughout this giant cavern. What waits ahead? How far does it go? These answers await those brave enough to enter this unknown, unexplored world.

Under the crater

Under the crater is a really hard and really long challenge. These challenges give you a test of all the skills you learned in super Mario odyssey. Going through this way is the only way to get to the moon. I divide the challenge in 6 parts.

Part 1

This area has Red lava to avoid. A hat like invader. It is recommended that you beat the hat invader. The reason is so that you can get a live up heart. You will have 6 life (regular) or 9 life (assist). After the hat invader comes sinking poles that are going to sink in the lava. To get up these poles do wall jumping for most. After sinking poles is poles that fall into the lava that you swing but you need to have good timing or your in the lava. After that comes moving platforms. To get to the other area keep jumping but don’t fall into the lava. Then you have to capture a lava bubble (podoboo) and jump into the lava holes but avoid moon snakes.

Part 2

You start this part after you blasted through the cannon. You will need to use an uproot to get through the 1st part of part 2. After doing the uproot challenge you need to be aware of freezing water and fuzzies in the next part of part 2. After that you will need a Yoshi and wall jump with Yoshi (in case you don’t know how to wall jump with Yoshi you need to stick Yoshi tongue on a wall than shoot than stick his tongue on another wall).

Part 3

This is the longest part. 1st Uncapture Yoshi (recommended) and walk on the flower road but avoid lasers. Walls will make you slow down. It is recommended that you go the Sphinx if you don’t have a live up heart the reason is that under Sphinx they’re is a live up heart but you have to answer the quiz at least 1 question correctly don’t worry about the flower road just press the P button to get a flower road. Then you will have too get past the blocks. They push out and collapse. The goal is to get past these blocks without your hat. Then you’ll need glydon and fly through the area with lots of enemies. Make sure you go on the air that’s going up this will help you go up. Then you need to capture the forks and fling them and then capture another fork before you land in the lava (some are moving).

Part 4

After you went through the pipe you will see a foggy area and a platform with a laser maker. In this challenge you need to try to get rid of the hedgehogs or otherwise your losing life. You can get rid of the hedgehogs by lasers or your hat. After you gone through there you need to capture a pokio. Then you need to poke the wooden moving platforms. After that you need to turn 2D and beat donkey Kong. Then you need to go to a pipe.

Part 5

In this part go through the painting with bowser with a Mario cap. Then you are bowser and need to bash and demolish stuff. Then you need to go up a spark pylon and then you need to capture a spark pylon again and spell the word “Thank you”. Don’t just head across. After you spell thank you in a spark pylon go through the pipe and you will see a building. Your not underground anymore.

Part 6

In this part the only thing you need to do is capture a frog and jump on the building. Keep jumping until you get to the pole. Then uncapture the frog and then turn to normal Mario and climb the pole. Then collect the multi moon on top of the pole and the entire darker side challenge is finished.
