This can be reduced by one if version 1.0.1 or 1.1.0 is used by utilizing nut jumping, or reduced by one again if version 1.0.0 is used by utilizing Meat Skip in Bruncheon. Additionally, enabling the use of two-player mode allows eight more captures to be skipped using various Cappy return cancels, as well as a ninth by performing Meat Skip without capturing a Goomba.
