Scooter Clip
Scooter clip (commonly referred to as scoot clip) is a speedrun strategy where mario uses the scooter in Metro Kingdom to clip into the cage around Remotely Captured Car to collect it. Scoot clip can save anywhere between 8 seconds if done optimally and 4 second if you take a long time setting up.
Reproduction Steps
The scooter is subtly affected by motion controls. If you rotate your controller to the left, the scooter will tilt left. This is abused to make scooter clip possible. To setup and perform scoot clip :
- Collide with the right edge of the cage whilst on the scooter
- Slowly move to the right and when you begin moving past the cage, rotate your procontroller or joycon grip to about 90 degrees. If you are using detatched joycons, you will have to rotate them to about 170 degrees.
If done right, Mario's hitbox will extend past the cage wall and collide will the moon collecting it.
