Scooter Clip

Scooter clip (commonly referred to as scoot clip) is a speedrun strategy used in many categories where mario uses the scooter in metro kingdom to clip into the cage around the Remotely Captured Car moon to collect it. Scoot clip can save anywhere between 8 seconds if done optimally and 4 second if you take a long time setting up. 

Performance

The scooter is subtly effected by motion controls; ie, if you rotate your controller to the left, the scooter will tilt left. This also works for rotations to the right. This is abused to make scooter clip possible. Although scoot clip can be done setupless, it is easier to use a setup until you are confident. To setup and perform scoot clip

• Collide with the right edge of the cage whilst on the scooter

• Slowly move to the right and when you begin moving past the cage, rotate your procontroller or joycon grip to about 90 degrees. If you are using detatched joycons, you will have to rotate them to about 170 degrees.
