After the game was released on October 27, 2017, the world record began rapidly decreasing, reaching a time of 1:05:14 by speedrunner Shaeden before the end of the year. Early speedruns were played on [[Version 1.0.1|game version 1.0.1]], and later the functionally identical [[version 1.1.0]] after its release on November 30, 2017, even after it was discovered that the earlier [[version 1.0.0]] was faster due to a version-exclusive trick known as [[First Moon Skip]].
