Stingby storage refers to storing the attack of an Urban Stingby by unloading it while it is preparing to attack. This allows the attack to be reactivated from a greater distance by loading the Stingby back in, and when doing so, the Stingby will charge at the position Mario is in as it is reloaded. Using this technique, one can theoretically set up one or more Stingbies to bounce on for extra height or distance during a trickjump.

While Stingby storage has no proven uses yet, there are a few promising potential applications.

Stingby storage can be used to skip the New Donk City Hall Interior section in nighttime Metro Kingdom, which is known as City Hall Skip. The trick saves around seven seconds in Any% and more in Festival%.
Stingby storage is theorized to be useful to skip the New Donk City Hall Interior section in nighttime Metro Kingdom, which could potentially save time in Any%. This could be done by following the route used by 13 Captures after collecting the Girder Sandwich moon, which passes directly by a swarm of Stingbies below where the skip would be performed. After storing the attacks of a few of these Stingbies while passing by them, the player would climb up and use the stored attacks for extra height to reach the top of the Bowser wedding billboard. From there, it is possible to climb to where the exit of the skyscraper's interior is using a trickjump.

Since this route would bypass the City Hall Lost & Found moon, an additional moon would need to be substituted in. Due to this, this route is more likely to save time in the variant of Any% where Network System Clock Abuse is allowed, since the City Gardening: Building Planter moon could be collected quickly using a third clock fast-forward.

Minimum Mario
In Minimum Mario, Stingby storage can be used to collect the Girder Sandwich moon in nighttime Metro Kingdom as a Goomba, reducing the number of moons required to be collected as Mario to beat the game by one. Using a strategic route, the moon can be reached with as few as three Stingby bounces, with one jump requiring one bounce and another jump requiring two consecutive bounces. So far, the latter jump has only been done using TAS tools.
In Minimum Mario, Stingby storage could potentially be used to obtain the Swaying in the Breeze and Girder Sandwich moons as a Goomba in nighttime Metro Kingdom. This would require two less moons to be collected as Mario to complete the kingdom.

Stingby storage could also potentially be used to obtain the Swaying in the Breeze moon as a Goomba in nighttime Metro Kingdom. This would eliminate yet another Mario moon required to complete the game, but it would require significantly more Stingby bounces than the method used to collect Girder Sandwich.
