Moon Cave Skip
Moon Cavern Skip (also referred to as Moon Cave Skip, Cave Skip or simply Moon Skip) is a jump that can be used
to skip the entirety of the Underground Moon Caverns in the Moon Kingdom.
Execution
To perform Moon Cavern Skip,
- Either groundpound, backflip or sideflip off the Sphynx's head
- Wall jump in the "L" shape made by the normal surface of the wall (See image)
- Hold straight left until mario grabs the wall
- Wall jump again to reach the platform
Uses in runs
This is used in all categories that needs to go through Moon Kingdom.
In the case of 100%, All Moons and Darker Side, this saves time by allowing the player to finish Moon Kingdom quickly on the first pass and come back a second time to allow the player to grab remaining moons from the first pass combined with the moons that spawns from achieving peace in the kingdom.
