Seam clip
A seam clip is an extremely precise type of clip that involves clipping through the seam where two adjacent surfaces meet at an angle (generally 90 degrees or less). Clips through horizontal seams where a wall meets a flat surface are called ledge clips, while clips through vertical seams between two walls are known as corner clips.
Although both variants of seam clips are very precise, ledge clips are often considered more difficult since it is harder to align Mario perfectly for the clip. Many ledge clips have no consistent setup.
Ledge clip locations
The following is a list of known ledge clip locations:
- The stump near the start of Cascade Kingdom. Video
- The tall pillar near the ruins in Sand Kingdom. Video
- One of the ledges near the area with the Sherms in Wooded Kingdom. Video
- The Warp Painting platform in Snow Kingdom (often occurs when attempting Snow Dram). Video
- The staircase at the end of the Ty-foo room in Snow Kingdom. Video
- A ledge near the entrance to the Magma Crossing room in Luncheon Kingdom. Video
Ledge clips in captures
There have been some examples of people ledge clipping whilst in a capture. They are thought to be more precise than a usual ledge clip. Currently, Fire Bros[1] and Podobos[2][3] have been seen to ledge clip.
Diving ledge grabs
Diving ledge grabs are when mario grabs a ledge out of a dive which is not meant to happen[4]. Not much is known about them currently.
