2D Skip

2D Skip is simply a small shortcut in the very last 2D section of the game. Misnamed by the community (or not, depending on where you stand) this trick requires you to execute a wrap around jump to avoid part of the 2D section. 2D skip saves about 2 seconds

This shortcut deserved to be named because of how many runs it killed when the game was just released.

Performance

2D skip is performed when bowser gets to the first gap in the 2D section. You will know when you are here because there will be two bricks in blocking your path. To perform 2D skip

• Break the lower block
• Jump across the gap onto the block to your right
• Jump back across the gap and land on the higher brick
• Go to the edge of the brick
• Jump up and hold left to land on the platform above
