Version 1.3.0

Version 1.3.0 is the most recent version of Super Mario Odyssey, and is speculated by many to be the game's final update. Released on April 25, 2019, the update followed version 1.2.0 and introduced VR mode and significantly faster loading times. For the majority of speedrun categories, including Any%, these fast loading times outweigh the time lost due to glitches patched in previous versions when compared to the base version 1.0.0, making 1.3.0 the fastest version for those categories. Version 1.3.0 is not known to have patched any glitches of its own.

Changes

The following is a list of changes compared to the previous version, version 1.2.0:

• Introduced the Nintendo Labo VR mode.
• Drastically reduced loading times throughout the game, such as when starting the game or transitioning between kingdoms or areas.
• When opening the Action Guide, the game now displays a black screen with a loading wheel, rather than a blank black screen. Unlike in previous versions, this black screen is now visible for a brief moment when attempting Fast Action Guide, rather than the game seeming to freeze for a moment instead.
