Dark Side is a speedrun category which consists of collecting 250 Power Moons and beating the Boss Rush in Dark Side as fast as possible. In Dark Side, RTA timing is used meaning players cannot pause the timer during runs and all runs must be completed in a single sitting. Timing begins when selecting "Start" on a new file and ends when you grab the Multimoon after the Broodal Mech fight. In Dark Side, use of amiibo, Assist Mode and Luigi's Balloon World is banned.
