Dark Side Broodal skips (colloquially known as 3DSS) are tricks that allow the player to skip the Broodal boss fights in Dark Side. These can save time in any speedrun that is required to beat this kingdom, such as Dark Side, All Moons and 100%. It can be used to skip Topper, Spewart and Rango, but not Hariet, because the exit loading zone in Hariet's room is completely enclosed with a trigger area. The trick was discovered by Mars2030, MiiWii, and Sledged_Hammer.
Explanation
The trick can be performed by vaulting to the right of the arena, falling almost down to the poison, doing a homing cap throw, downthrowing, bouncing off of Cappy, wall jumping, and then diving onto a sloped surface on the wall to cancel the dive, then wall jumping once more, doing another homing cap throw, then diving into the back side of the arena. From there you can jump to the exit door.[1]
