The most common way to execute a MIP Clip:
To execute a platform clip consistently:

*Hang off a edge that a MIP will run into.
*Hang off of a ledge that a moving platform will move into.
*Let go when the MIP is covering the end of the track.
*Just as the moving platform reaches the end of its visual rail, let go of the ledge, and release the left joystick.
*Cap throw.
*Wait a brief moment, then perform a [[cap throw]] without any left joystick input.
*Slide against the wall until you've gone out-of-bounds.
*After the cap throw, begin holding toward the wall to slide against it. If done correctly, Mario will clip into the wall upon reaching the bottom of the moving platform.
It should be noted that the ledge grab is only for the purpose of consistency and is not actually necessary to perform a platform clip.<ref>https://twitter.com/9nether1/status/1519254881948684288</ref>

As shown [https://twitter.com/9enhtre/status/1519254881948684288 here] you can also do the clip without grabbing the edge.

A platform clip is a type of out-of-bounds clip that can be performed in the Sand Kingdom, involving one of the pyramid-shaped moving platforms pushing Mario out of bounds. In particular, this glitch is used in certain speedruns such as Any% to clip out of bounds in the central area of the Tostarena Ruins; this location is often specifically known as Platform Clip.

Execution

To execute a platform clip consistently:

  • Hang off of a ledge that a moving platform will move into.
  • Just as the moving platform reaches the end of its visual rail, let go of the ledge, and release the left joystick.
  • Wait a brief moment, then perform a cap throw without any left joystick input.
  • After the cap throw, begin holding toward the wall to slide against it. If done correctly, Mario will clip into the wall upon reaching the bottom of the moving platform.

It should be noted that the ledge grab is only for the purpose of consistency and is not actually necessary to perform a platform clip.[1]
