Snow Moon Clip is a moon clip within Shiveria Town in the Snow Kingdom, using the Shining in the Snow in Town moon. The clip saves time in various speedrun categories.

Execution

To execute Snow Moon Clip:

Ground pound the spot containing the moon. Begin to position Mario slightly away from the wall, facing away from it.
After a brief moment, backflip toward the wall.
At the moment the moon becomes solid, cap throw toward the wall.
To land half-bounds, cap throw toward the wall again after the moon animation finishes, wait a brief moment, then ground pound. This can be chained into a roll for a fast way to reach the Wind-Chill Cavern entrance.

Usage in runs

Any%

This clip is used to skip a wrap around pathing. While this is far from being a must do it still offers a decent time save.

World Peace (and categories that achieves world peace)

Since you need to do Bound Bowl to achieve peace in this kingdom, skipping opening the gates is a decent time save. In case you fail the clip you can always do Upstairs or Downstairs Snow Clip, but the Moon Clip is by far the fastest way to get to Bound Bowl since this moon is already really fast.
