Reverse Jaxi Skip, often simply called Reverse Jaxi, is a variant of Jaxi Skip that is used to climb the east side of Jaxi Ruins in the Sand Kingdom from the outside. This skip is used in many advanced speedrun routes, as it can be done quickly after collecting the On the Lone Pillar moon.
The trick involves landing on a ledge partway up the structure in order to gain enough height to reach the top of the ruins.
Speedrun usage
Any%
In Any%, Reverse Jaxi Skip is used to scale Jaxi Ruins after collecting the On the Lone Pillar moon. As with standard Jaxi Skip, the nearby coin chest can be opened while collecting The Treasure of Jaxi Ruins. Afterward, the player can navigate to the On the Leaning Pillar moon and then manipulate a Bullet Bill to crash into the block containing Inside a Block Is a Hard Place.
Darker Side
In Darker Side, Reverse Jaxi Skip is used to scale the ruins after collecting the On the Eastern Pillar moon.
